Basic Frame Construction
Estimating Roof Damage
Brick and Concrete Block Estimating
Includes determining the number of wall studs, roof rafters, and floor
joists needed to build or restore a building or dwelling after being damaged
by a storm. This course also includes a discussion on how to make partial
or complete repairs to drywall. This includes taping and floating the
drywall joints and seams. Wall preparation, paint application and
wallpaper estimating will also be discussed.
Includes a discussion on how to estimate the number of concrete blocks
needed to construct walls for a building. Also includes how to
determine the total number of bricks needed to construct a brick veneer
exterior wall for a modern dwelling. Includes a discussion on other
materials needed to complete the masonry work.
Learn to measure roofing surfaces and estimate damage repairs due to
windstorm, hurricane and hail. Learn what windstorm and hail damage
really looks like. Learn how to distinguish between real and
"manufactured" hail damage. The different types of roofing materials
such as wood shake and composition asphalt shingles will be discussed and
reviewed.
